No news since December… I know, I should be sacked. No employer in the world would put up with such shoddy productivity!
So, why the silence? Well, do you have to ask… it was the middle of winter and cold… it was January. JANUARY! What’s the point?! I can’t think of a more useless time of year. There’s absolutely nothing to do, it gets dark so early that by the time you get up, eat a big cooked breakfast (you have to because it’s so cold) and light a fire… it’s dark again! And the house is like an ice box, freezing draughts blowing in through rotten window frames and badly fitting doors. It’s a wonder anyone can even drag themselves out of bed.
Now that February is here and the sun has been shining on us, I’ve been out in the garden again trying to get it organised for spring planting. The kids have also been helping out. They’re great; they’re like wwoofers only they eat less!
I’ve recently been perfecting the “dossier” for our association Projet Capucine, in French, so that we can try to put our plan into action this year by going round and talking to local government structures and other bodies who might be able to help us (financially, mostly!). If you know anyone who wants to give money or wwoof, you know which direction to point them in!!!
